The main milestones in its sustainability commitment are the following:

2004

  • Issue of the Ethical Code of the Generali Group
  • Creation of the CSR unit

2005

  • First edition of the Group Sustainability Report 2004
  • Issue of the Ethical Code for Relations with Suppliers in Italy
  • Creation of the Eco-Committee

2006

  • Issue of the European Social Charter of the Generali Group
  • Issue in Austria of a code regulating the relations with suppliers
  • Further development in Israel of the section about the relations with suppliers in the Ethical Code
  • Adhesion to the ethical investment criteria of the Norwegian Government Pension Fund

2007

  • Creation of the Sustainability Committee
  • Participation in the UN Global Compact initiative

2008

  • Issue of the Group Sustainability Report 2007 just weeks after the Annual Report of the Parent Company and its approval by the Board of Directors of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A.

2009

  • Issue of the Environmental Policy of the Generali Group
  • Re-organization of the Eco-Committee and its re-naming as the EMS Committee
  • Creation of the national CSR Committees
  • Launch of a project aimed at introducing a corporate Environmental Management System (EMS)

2010

  • Review of the Ethical Code of the Generali Group and its approval by the Board of Directors of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A.
  • Inclusion in the ASPI (Advanced Sustainable Performance Indices) Eurozone

2011

  • Issue of the Ethical Code for Supplier of the Generali Group
  • Adhesion to Principle for Responsible Investments (PRI)
  • Adhesion to CDP Water Disclosure
  • Inclusion in the FTSE4Good index

2012

  • Issue of the Generali Group Code of Conduct
  • Certification of the greenhouse gas emissions of the EMS in accordance with the ISO 14064 standard as from 2012
  • Inclusion in the MSCI WORLD ethical indices

2013

  • Issue of the Charter of Sustainability Commitments, approved by the Board of Directors of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A.
  • Online version of the 2012 Sustainability Report
